This wide-field view from the Digitized Sky Survey 2 shows the region of the sky around JADES-GS-z14-0, the most distant galaxy known yet. The galaxy is located at the centre of the frame, but it is too faint to be seen here. Observations with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) have revealed the presence of oxygen in this galaxy –– the furthest detection of oxygen yet.
