Hubble’s Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) forever changed our view of the universe. Two decades into its epic mission, ACS continues to deliver ground-breaking science and stunning images. ACS has taken over 125,000 pictures and spawned numerous discoveries. Here is a portfolio of some of the ACS’s most striking images. In this six-panel collage, the photos are (left to right): the Spire in the Eagle Nebula ("Spire in Eagle Nebula https://hubblesite.org/contents/media/images/2005/12/1693-Image.html), V838 Monocerotis (“V838 Monocerotis” https://hubblesite.org/contents/media/images/2005/02/1638-Image.html), the Hubble Ultra Deep Field ("Hubble Ultra Deep Field https://hubblesite.org/contents/news-releases/2004/news-2004-07.html) (HUDF), the Whirlpool Galaxy ("Whirlpool Galaxy https://hubblesite.org/contents/media/images/2005/12/1677-Image.html) (M51), Saturn (“Saturn” https://hubblesite.org/contents/media/images/2004/18/1545-Image.html), and the Orion Nebula (“Orion Nebula” https://hubblesite.org/contents/media/images/2006/01/1826-Image.html) (M42).
